We are looking for a SERVICE COORDINATOR to join the team at Rygiel Supports. The successful candidate will manage the operation of assigned group homes as well lead the teams of employees in a way that will contribute to the realization of our vision through effective delivery of services to individuals supported and their families. The Service Coordinator will be reporting to the Manager of Residential Services

What can I expect to do in this role?

Facilitate the planning for service delivery for individuals who come to the agency for service, develop a service agreement and orient the individual and his/her family to the agency.

Foster growth of the individuals served by monitoring the development and implementation of Personal Lifestyle Plans (PLP) and Daily Support Guides (DSG), ensuring that these plans are consistent with the values and philosophy of the agency.

Build, maintain and nurture teams of qualified, skilled and motivated employees to meet the needs of the individuals supported in a way consistent with organizational values.

Create master schedule for employees; track vacation, sick leave, overtime and employee hours and make necessary adjustments to ensure staffing hours are within the allocated budget.

Work closely with the Manager of Residential Services Services, Manager of Finance, and Human Resources Manager, to effectively develop budget, manage attendance; track scheduling, vacation, sick leave, overtime and staff hours

Communicate effectively with Night/Weekend Coordinators; provide timely transfer of relevant information regarding individuals and homes to ensure smooth delivery of services

Fulfill the Supervisor responsibilities under the Health & Safety Act and promote Health and Safety as a workplace priority; ensure that all staff carries equally the responsibility for Health & Safety regardless of his/her position/level within the organization.

Act as liaison and work in partnership with community professionals and agencies and the Ministry of Community and Social Services personnel; advocate on behalf of the individuals supported; reflect the agency vision, mission and values within the community

Build and maintain connections with families; provide support to families in service planning, service delivery and case management.

Responsible for working knowledge of and compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and processes that impact the lives of the people supported and employees and under which the service must adhere in order to operate including but not limited to: Developmental Services Act, local relevant health regulations, Employment Standards Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code, , MCSS compliance and licensing and Collective Agreement,

How do I qualify?

The successful candidate will be a resourceful, strategic and forward-thinking change agent with strong professional and personal attributes.

Completion of a relevant degree or diploma in humanities or social services: Developmental Service Worker preferred

5 years’ work experience in the Social Services sector,

Demonstrated 2-3 years effective supervisory skills preferably in an agency that provides support to people with developmental disabilities.

Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills as well as budget accountability experience and resource management.

Up-to-date certification – WHMIS, Fire Safety, CPR, First Aid, NVCI

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, protocols and procedures that apply to the developmental services sector

Commitment to individualized and community-based approach to service delivery

Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English

Valid Driver’s License; Police Clearance; CPR and First Aid

Scheduling experience and availability to work flexible hours.

Able to define problems, collect date, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Ability to read, analyze, interpret Ministry guidelines, Policy & Procedure Manuals, and employment legislation

Familiar with Developmental Services of Ontario and current Legislation including the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with a Developmental Disabilities Act (2008)

French language (written and verbal) is an asset
