At Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Dow Canada operates four world-scale production units that manufacture hydrocarbons, ethylene, polyethylene, and electricity. Serving our global customers, Dow Canada’s operations in Fort Saskatchewan from one of the largest petrochemical facilities in Canada. Dow currently has openings for Operating Technicians to work at our Fort Saskatchewan complex.
The role of the Process Operator includes operating equipment and process related control systems in a safe environmentally responsible manner. The role involves optimizing plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions, conducting field checks, adjusting control systems manually and operated equipment based on process controls in a safe and efficient manner.
The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:
Optimize plant operation
Work within a team environment
Work a 12 hour rotating shifts
Perform duties in a safe, environmentally responsible manner
Follow Operating Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards and practices to ensure safe and reliable operation of assigned plant areas.

2 or more years of operations experience in a chemical, oil and gas, or similar industry.
Able to work a 12 hour rotating shift.
Willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
Have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.

Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

Alberta 3rd or 4th Class (ABSA).
High school diploma or equivalent with one of the following:
Related two year technical diploma, such as Chemical Engineering Technology or Power Engineering Technology
Completion of Alberta 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Class.
