As Colliers Project Leaders continues to experience strong growth, we are seeking a Marketing Specialist, National Events to join our team for a Full -Time 12 month work term with the possibility of Full-Time employment.
Events and conferences bring us in direct contact with existing and prospective clients. They are an opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussions about industry trends and challenges. They also provide a platform to showcase how we help clients achieve project success every day.

As the Marketing Specialist, National Events, you will lead all national event and conference activities in support of our business development and strategic objectives. This includes developing and executing a national events/conference plan, as well as a series of Colliers Project Leaders-led thought leadership events. In this role, you will apply your strong writing and creative talents to secure speaking opportunities, support networking activity and build brand awareness, working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other industry leaders.
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing Strategies, you will also be responsible for communicating and promoting our event activity via direct marketing, social media and other channels, and for managing data accurately in our corporate CRM. Your ability to engage with colleagues, build strong relationships with event organizers, and meet deadlines will be critical to your success in this role.

What you’ll get to do as Marketing Specialist, National Events with Colliers Project Leaders:
Develop and implement an annual national conference and event plan, and an annual thought leadership event plan to support the company’s strategic and business development objectives, and strengthen brand awareness.
Monitor relevant national industry and sector-specific events (e.g. FCM, CAMA, CAUBO, CUTA) to identify and secure speaking opportunities.
Support the development of presentation materials.
Coordinate and execute attendance and promotional strategies for national events.
Identify, assess and negotiate strategic sponsorship opportunities, working with the Business Development team.
Build positive relationships with event organizations.
Lead the execution of the company’s national thought leadership events, including developing compelling descriptions and invitations, securing guest speakers, promoting events, and managing all logistics and post-event activity.
Manage event-related leads and contacts in the company’s CRM.
Organize post-event debriefs and manage debrief documents.
Leverage available analytics to assess event success, adjust for future planning and report on performance.
Monitor and maintain relevant internal databases to support collaboration and information sharing across the company.
Perform other duties as assigned by Manager, Marketing Strategies or Marketing Director.
What you’ll need to be successful in the role:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications or Event Planning
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
4-6 years of experience in a similar role or in a professional services / consulting company
Demonstrated knowledge of event planning and delivery, the ability to plan and prepare for events in advance, and to deal with the urgent nature of event execution
Ability to work in-person and remotely, and travel within Canada as required
Strong writing skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as event / conference organizers and vendors
Highly organized, attentive to detail and goal-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Confident self-starter with strong project management, critical thinking and investigation skills
Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and / or ClickDimension is an asset
Bilingualism is an asset
